Magnetic heads, optical sensors, and chip contacts in card readers, have to be cleaned regularly to remove dirt and other environmental contaminants, in order to prevent costly reading and coding errors. More than 80 % of all malfunctions are due to soiling. The cleaning card was developed specifically for the cleaning of card readers and decoders, and provides for maintenance without the need to open the device.
